Chicken Little
I have watched the movie entitled Chicke Little. Overall..It was funny and educate us to not lie to someone..If you crossed the line (I mean, if you lie once) you will hard to back, here is the review of the movie
The plot, about as thick as most Disney fare, revolves around Chicken Little’s famous warning that the sky is falling, which turns him into the town laughingstock. A year later, he’s trying to move on from the incident, considerably harder to do since billboards around town announce the impending arrival of a movie based on the incident, just another random metafictional twist to the story meant to make it stand out (the film’s opening briefly parodies The Lion King, as well). But just as Chicken and Pop are ready to move on, the sky starts falling again, and it turns out to be aliens (popular theme this year). Chicken and pals have a brief run-in with the invaders, whose octopedal robots look awfully familiar. So it’s up to Chicken Little and his friends to solve the crisis, and Chicken Little also uses the opportunity to try and bond with his father.
The fractured relationship of father and son drives the story but, thanks to some forced plotting and rote character development, it doesn’t quite ring as true as, say, the family dynamic of The Incredibles. But Dindal is hoping that the whiz-bang effects and 3-D flash are enough to distract from the fact that there’s not much substance here
Director Mark Dindal has experience with animated features; his The Emperor’s New Groove, also a Disney film, while certainly not great, still had a few laughs, thanks to the interplay between David Spade’s trademark snarkiness and John Goodman’s reliable straight man. Similarly, Chicken Little has more than enough humor to entertain the parents in the audience. For instance, when Chicken Little and the other kids at his middle school play dodgeball in gym class, the coach instructs them to split into teams of “popular versus unpopular.� (Chicken Little seems to be pretty obviously molded on Jonathan Lipnicki circa Jerry Maguire; after all, nothing makes a tiny kid cuter than fitting him with oversized glasses, right?) In fact, for the first half-hour, the film plays like a straight story about an outsider and his group of misfit friends, among them Ugly Duckling (Joan Cusack), Runt of the Litter (Steve Zahn), and Fish out of Water (indecipherable gurgles provided by Dindal). The casting, including Garry Marshall as Chicken Little’s father, is excellent

…2 movies in a nite
Sabtu (191105) gw ama temen2 sudah merencanakan mau nonton Harry Potter: The goblet Of Fire di Mall Taman Anggrek, tapi sayang, tiket udah sold out untuk hari itu padahal movienya diputar di 2 theatre sekaligus..Harry Potter begitu sangat menyihir.
Karena ga mau pulang dengan tangan kosong, kita berusaha untuk datang ke Mall Ciputra dan setiba disana tiket untuk Harry Potter: The goblet Of Fire baru dibuka untuk jam 10.00pm, sedangkan waktu baru menunjukkan pukul 400pm. Kita melihat sneak-peak movie-movie lain, dan kita melihat ada film baru anak Indonesia yang berjudul Belahan Jiwa, dibintangi oleh : Dian Sastrowardhoyo, Marcella Zalianty, Rachel Maryam, Dinna Olivia, Nirina Zubir, Indah Kalalo, Alexander Wiguna. Sutradara: Sekar Ayu Asmara. Karena melihat nama-nama pemain sinema papan atas dan kita juga masih ngebet mau nonton Harry Potter, akhirnya kita sepakat untuk menunggu Harry Potter diputer dengan menonton Belahan Jiwa terlebih dahulu.
Belahan Jiwa dibuat sebagai psychological drama. Seorang Cempaka (Dian Sastro) yang trauma akan masa lalunya dan mengakibatkan “lahirnya” karakter-karakter (split-character) di dirinya, karakter tersebut : Cairo(Rachel Maryam), Farlyna (Dinna Olivia), Arimbi (Marcella Zalianty), dan Baby Blue (Nirina Zubir). Mereka adalah sahabat karib yang menganggap mereka semua adalah soulmates. Perempuan-perempuan ini bukan seperti tokoh-tokoh yang di Sex and the City, karakter-karakter di Belahan Jiwa adalah orang-orang yang tidak ingin anda temui di dalam hidup anda. Ada pelukis gila yang suka melukis dengan darah yang selalu teriak-teriak (Cairo), ada juga arsitek dengan wig berwarna biru yang yang bisa bikin mimpi buruk (Baby Blue). Semua elemen di film ini dimasukkan semata-mata sebagai shock value. Ada anak kecil diperkosa oleh bapaknya sendiri (Cempaka), ada perempuan yang menggugurkan kandungan supaya darahnya bisa dipakai untuk melukis, dan beberapa lagi. Semua dilakukan dengan tidak bertanggung jawab. (Di rumah duka, mana ada orang Batak nyanyi lagu Butet). Kekurangan film ini menurut gw : terlalu sering adegan diambil dtempet sempit, Cerita yang tidak agak kuat, soundtrack/sounding yang garing, script yang payah, Pergantian scene yg amatir. Namun karena dibintangi oleh cewek-cewek cantik (Dian Sastro, of course the best!!) akhirnya kita ekspektasi kita akan filmnya ini tetaplah tinggi.
Apapun yang telah anda lalui di dunia ini tidak akan cukup mempersiapkan mental anda untuk menonton film ini. Di infotainment, Raam Punjabi bilang bahwa dia memproduksi Belahan Jiwa untuk memberikan sesuatu yang berbeda kepada penonton. Bapak Raam, kalau kami bilang kami bosan sama sayur asem, bukan berarti kami terus mau makan sop laler ijo.
Tapi secara pribadi, gw melihat keseluruhan film ini cukup bagus dan ga rugi buat buat killing-time cuma buat nungguin Harry Potter. Akhirnya, setelah film Belahan Jiwa selesai pada pukul 0800pm kita makan malam dulu dan melanjutkan menonton Harry Potter-nya. No comment for Harry Potter, it still a GREAT MOVIE !!!
Seven Swords
Tadi sehabis nonton a lot like love, si CanCan main ke kos dan dia liat ada DVD seven swords di kamar gw..Eh, ternyata dia juga lagi nyari DVD itu..Akhirnya kita nonton bareng aja Seven Swords-nya.
Sesuai judulnya, film heroic dari negeri tirai bambu ini menceritakan tentang nilai-nilai kepahlawanan dari 7 orang yang masing-masing memiliki pedang sakti mandraguna. Mereka “turun gunung” demi membasmi tirani yang selalu meneror penduduk desa.
IMHO(In My Humble Opinion), ga rugi klo lo juga nonton film yang satu ini. Dengan sedikit bumbu romantisme, film laga aksi heroic ini bisa menghibur dikala senggang………………
